HOW IT STARTED…
On August 5, 2020, I went for a solo country cruise, & for once, I honored the OCD-fueled impulse to pull over because “that looks like it could be a picture.” This is the result of that…the photograph that started it all...
From that point on, I honored more of my creative nudges & started playing around with photo editing, all on my iPhone. This quickly became my favorite quarantine hobby, & after sharing bits of this little side project with the world, people began inquiring if I could do personal portraits for their families, seniors & beloved pets. Then, a couple of realtors jumped in the mix to showcase their properties, & Blank Space Creative Connections was born!
As time went on & a post-COVID world began to open up, so did my creative opportunities. I began traveling to new & exciting places to help promote & collaborate with online creators & small business owners on a variety of creative projects, including…
- Creative directing & photographing Savy Leiser’s (Chicago-based writer of the Savy Writes Books YouTube Channel) cover art for the title Conversations With My Puppet along with photographing her indie fashion line Hipster Unicorn Fashion.
- ‘Barter Buddy’ Video Content Swaps with Kayak the Colorado (AZ), Cave Country Canoes (IN), Old Mill Canoe Rental (IN) & Kayaking Adventures of Tennessee (TN).
- Offering headshots to all conference attendees of the 2023 MOMScape Conference, held by Mom Squad Worldwide, in Alpharetta, GA
HOW IT’S GOING…
Countless photographs & highway miles later, what started as a quirky quarantine hobby has morphed from a small-town photography business into a sacred home for of all of my creative whims. Because I allowed myself to simply pull over & take that one picture, nowadays, I allow myself to explore each & every artistic adventure that comes my way, be it portrait session inquiries, travel recaps, content creation (for myself & others) or the next story that downloads into my brain, half-written, while driving down these Indiana backroads.
